I know it says that these are kids crafts but they're a great decoration idea too!

This charming little jar is fun to make and pretty on display. Make just one for your table or a bunch to use as luminaries. Line your front step to pave the way for trick-or-treaters!

What you'll need:

* Glass jar
* Cream acrylic craft paint
* Paintbrush
* Tissue paper: white, orange, yellow
* 24” raffia
* White craft glue
* Scissors
* Tea light candle or battery operated tea light
* Acrylic sealer spray
* Pattern

How to make it:

1. Paint jar with a coat of cream-colored acrylic paint. Allow to dry for one hour.
2. Repeat step one for a second coat and allow to dry overnight.
3. Cut a piece of white tissue paper about 6” x 6”. Fold this piece in half, fold in half again, and fold a total of four times. From this folded piece, cut the tip of the candy corn (see pattern).
4. Repeat step 3, this time using orange tissue paper, cutting out the middle section of the candy corn.
5. Repeat step 3 using yellow tissue paper and cutting out the bottom section of the candy corn.
6. Mix together a teaspoon of white craft glue and a teaspoon of water in a small dish.
7. Separate each color of tissue paper into two piles. You should have 6 piles all together.
8. Dip a paintbrush into the glue mixture and dab a little onto the jar where you will decoupage your candy corn.
9. Dip paintbrush into glue mixture again, dab off excess on edge of dish and “pick up” a white candy corn tip by using the tip of the paintbrush. The tissue paper will stick to the paintbrush. Gently press onto the jar and lightly “paint” the glue mixture over the tissue paper.
10. Repeat step #9 for each piece of the candy corn. Each pile represents a section of one candy corn. So for the three piles of white, orange and yellow you will get one candy corn, for the other three piles you will get the other candy corn. Decoupage each piece in layers on top of one another.
11. Take a piece of orange tissue paper, long enough to fit around the top of the jar and about 4” wide. Roll the tissue paper up lengthwise to make a thick band, then glue around the top of the jar.
12. Tie raffia around the orange tissue paper band and trim the ends.
13. Spray entire project with acrylic sealer spray.
14. Place a tea light or battery operated tea light inside the jar.
